Toolpath is built so that your data stays yours. It has no account, no ads and no cross-app tracking. The only data that leaves your device is described below.

No account

Toolpath has no sign-up and no login.

Your data stays on your devices and in your iCloud

G-code files, machines, tools, recipes, job history, stock and maintenance records are stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on, they sync through your own private iCloud database, which only you can access. The developer cannot see it.

Analysis happens on your device

G-code parsing, safety checks, feeds and speeds and all calculators run locally.

On-device assistant

The assistant uses Apple Intelligence on your device. Your questions are not sent to the developer.

Cloud assistant

On devices where Apple Intelligence isn't available, the assistant can answer with a cloud model. Only when you ask a question this way, Toolpath sends the question, up to the last six messages of that conversation and the matching built-in workshop notes to the Toolpath server (hosted on Cloudflare), which passes them to Anthropic's Claude to write the answer. Your G-code files, machines, tools and job history are never sent.

The Toolpath server does not store questions or answers. Anthropic processes them under its commercial terms, does not use them to train its models, and may keep them for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring. Questions are not linked to your name or Apple Account.

Random account identifier

To count free and Pro cloud questions and to deliver purchases to all your devices, Toolpath creates a random identifier and keeps it in your own iCloud. The server stores only this identifier with your plan, your question count for the month and any question packs you bought. It is not connected to your name, email or Apple Account.

Live machine monitor (local network)

If you use the optional live monitor, Toolpath connects to the CNC controller address you enter on your local network and only reads its status. Nothing from this connection is sent anywhere else.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. The developer receives no payment details. To unlock Pro and add question packs, the app sends Apple's signed transaction record (product, dates, transaction number) to the Toolpath server, which checks Apple's signature and records the result for your random identifier.

Usage and crash data

To find bugs and see which features help, Toolpath uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. They receive anonymous events such as "a job was imported" or "the simulation was started", crash reports, the app version, device model and operating system, and a random installation identifier. They never receive your G-code, questions, machines, tools or library data. Toolpath does not use the advertising identifier, does not enable ad personalization and does not share data with advertisers or data brokers. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Share anonymous usage and crash data.

Tracking

Toolpath does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Children

Toolpath is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
